Australian
Game Developers (AGD) Awards 2003
Congratulations to all those AGD
Award Winners who were recognised by their peers as leaders
in each of the 13 categories offered. Prizes included a framed AGD
Award Certificate and Discreet 3D Studio Max 6 with Character Studio
valued at approximately $9000. Special thanks go to our AGD Award
sponsors Discreet who provided over $140,000 worth of Discreet Software.
We hope to see you up on the stage receiving an
award next year.

Sony
Foundation Australia Scholarship
As the recipient of the Sony
Foundation Australia Scholarship, AIE, Canberra student, Chris
Chaproniere will be jetting off to London early next year to embark
on his two week internship at SCEE’s development studios.

Micro
Forté Programming Awards
The Micro Forté Programming Awards recognise outstanding
work in programming amongst students of the Academy of Interactive
Entertainment. Recipients are selected via an analysis of their
coding talents throughout the final year of study and by recommendation
from tutors at the Academy.
Well done to first place winner, Lyndon
Howie, who will receive an all expenses paid trip to the Game
Developers Conference held in San José, USA in March 2004.
The runner-up finalist, Conan Bourke will receive programming equipment
to the value of one thousand dollars.
Both students are offered an internship opportunity for one month
at Micro Forté’s Canberra studio working on wireless
games.
